Programme for Young Female Researchers and Teachers

The “Programme for Young Female Researchers and Teachers” aims to address the phenomenon of the loss of women’s involvement in the course of a scientific career and to promote at the UW the need to support the development of young talent in the field of science.

The programme is aimed at female researchers employed under a contract of employment at the University of Warsaw who obtained their doctoral degree no earlier than seven years before the recruitment conducted through a competition.

The first and second editions of the “Programme for Young Female Researchers and Teachers” are currently being implemented and will end in February and December 2025, respectively.

In total, 34 young female researchers are taking part in both editions.

Participants in both editions were supported by female and male mentors. They also participated in individual counselling on scientific career development, training courses specially designed for them and coaching.

The programme’s training offer is directed at improving scientific, personal and managerial competencies.

The programme is supported by the Programme Council consisting of:

The programme is funded by the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” Programme (EIRU), Action IV.5.2. “Programme for Young Female Researchers and Teachers” and Action IV.1.3 “From the Diamond Grant to the ERC Grant” – development of individual research career plans).

Another enrolment is planned provided funding is obtained for the 2nd edition of the EIRU Programme.
