Welcome to UW
“Welcome to UW!” training is more than just an introduction to our University. It’s a platform for us to get to know each other better and share our past experiences.
“Welcome to UW” is specifically designed for those who are taking their first steps in the structures of our university. This training is our commitment to familiarise you with the organisation’s strategy, mission, vision, objectives, its organisational structure and, in the case of training for academic teachers, the procedures concerning, among other things, employment based on applicable law and internal regulations.
We will also present our extensive social offer, employment benefits, and privileges, as well as institutional solutions related to psychological support, counteracting mobbing, unequal treatment, and dispute resolution in the workplace.
We are committed to enhancing the training experience by incorporating your feedback and needs. Our collaboration with in-house experts ensures that we are constantly evolving to meet your expectations.
The training will culminate with a walk around the campus accompanied by a guide, a UW Museum Employee, who will introduce you to the history of the University and its heritage. During the tour, new employees will have the opportunity to visit important sites on the historic Campus, including the Golden Hall and the Senate Hall in the Kazimierzowski Palace, the Adam Mickiewicz Auditorium and the Columned Hall. The training participants very positively received the walk around the Central Campus. For its series “Welcome to UW”, the Museum of the University of Warsaw was awarded third prize in the 18th edition of the “Mazowieckie zdarzenia muzealne Wierzba” competition in the “Educational Project” category.
Our aim is to provide you with the necessary information and support to facilitate a smooth and efficient adaptation. We are here to guide you through your first steps in our academic community.
Administration and service employees who would like to broaden their knowledge of the University and exchange experiences with other employees are invited to participate in the “Let’s Get to Know UW Better” training, the programme of which is an extension of the issues presented at the “Welcome to UW!” training.
Experts are invited to the training sessions to introduce the activities of their units or to prepare mini-lectures on topics suggested by participants. The “Let’s Get to Know UW Better” training series also aims to improve communication at the university and offers a guided tour of the historic Campus, a walk through the university gardens or a visit to the UW Library.
