Academy of Science Communication
The Academy of Science Communication is implemented in cooperation with the Centre for Cooperation and Dialogue of the University of Warsaw (CDiW). The main objectives of the programme, directed at academic teachers employed at the University of Warsaw, are:
- developing the competencies needed to communicate scientific results,
- preparing researchers to work with the media.
The programme’s first pilot edition took place in the first half of 2024. The second will start in early 2025.
The programme consists of general and dedicated training courses aimed at those who wish to receive individual counselling on radio and television appearances.
The thematic scope of the Academy’s training courses includes the use of character strengths in public speaking, as well as the presentation of oneself and one’s achievements at conferences and scientific appearances.
Those interested in participating can take part in the programme’s training courses of their choice. Training is mainly conducted in a workshop format.
Registration for selected training courses is done via the Campus-Employee platform (Kampus-Pracownik). Enrollment for the next edition will open at the end of December 2024.
The Academy of Science Communication is funded by the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” Programme (EIRU), Action V.3.1. Development of UW staff competencies, and from CDiW funds.
